PETE ALONSO TAUNTS BRAVES’ BRYCE ELDER AFTER METS’ HOMER: ‘THROW IT AGAIN’
The Polar Bear was feeling frosty after extending his MLB lead in homers.
Mets first baseman Pete Alonso took Braves starter Bryce Elder deep for his 22nd home run of the year in the third inning in Atlanta on Tuesday — and let the right-hander hear about it afterward.
Alonso went deep on a 1-2 count when Elder hung an 83-mph slider to put the Mets up 4-1.
“Throw it again, throw it again, please. Throw it again,” Alonso was caught yelling on a hot mic toward Elder from the Mets dugout after the 448-foot blast.
The two-time Home Run Derby champion extended his lead in dingers, now three ahead of Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge, who is heading to the injured list with a toe injury.
But Alonso’s exuberance in Atlanta wasn’t the first time this year that he went viral for a roundtripper.

Before getting ready to take a trip to the restroom, Alonso took a trip around the bases after going deep against Hunter Greene.
“I mistimed my pregame coffee. Mistimed it. I had it too close to game time,” Alonso said. “And then I’m running, doing my sprints and then I throw in the middle of the first inning, I’m like goodness gracious, this is not good.

Alonso set the Citi Field home run this past Sunday in a 6-4 loss to the Blue Jays with his 72nd long ball in the ballpark, breaking Lucas Duda’s prior record.
The Mets began a three-game series against Atlanta on Tuesday night, 5¹/₂ games behind the NL East-leading Braves.
