UFC 289 UNDERCARD: FULL LIST OF FIGHTS BEFORE AMANDA NUNES VS. IRENE ALDANA MAIN EVENT

The UFC bantamweight title is on the line as Amanda Nunes defends her belt against Irene Aldana at UFC 289 on June 10.

UFC 289 is in the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, the UFC's first visit to Canada since 2019. The fight airs on ESPN+ PPV in the U.S.

A UFC featherweight champion, Nunes held bantamweight gold from 2016 to 2021 before Julianna Pena beat her at UFC 269 via submission. “The Lioness” reclaimed the belt at UFC 277 in July, and the trilogy was booked for UFC 289. Pena would back out after breaking a rib.

Nunes is ready to hold onto her belt for as long as she can.

Aldana turned pro in 2012. A former Invicta FC bantamweight title contender, the Mexican star joined the UFC in 2016. She is 5-1 in her last five and is currently on a two-fight win streak. Ranked fifth in the UFC’s bantamweight rankings, Aldana looks to become the fourth fighter from Mexico to hold UFC gold this year.

Outside the main event, several bouts could alter the rankings of various divisions. Here is a look into the entire main card of UFC 289.

UFC 289 undercard

Charles Oliveira vs. Beneil Dariush

Division/Weight: Lightweight
Oliveira record: 33-9, one no contest
Dariush record: 22-4-1

In the co-main event, Charles Oliveira faces Beneil Dariush. Oliveira (33-9) made his pro debut in 2008 and joined the UFC in 2010. He is 21-8 with the promotion. “Do Bronx” beat Michael Chandler at UFC 262 to win the UFC lightweight title, but at UFC 274, he missed weight for his fight against Justin Gaethje and was stripped of the belt. Oliveira won the bout via submission, but his title was gone.

In his last bout, competing for the vacant title, Oliveira was defeated by Islam Makhachev via submission.

Dariush (22-4-1), ranked fourth in the lightweight rankings, is a multi-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu silver and gold medalist. The 34-year-old turned pro in 2009 and joined the UFC in 2014. He’s 16-4-1 with the promotion and is on an eight-fight win streak. Dariush last fought in October, beating Mateusz Gamrot via unanimous decision.

They were supposed to fight at UFC 288, but Oliveira backed out due to injury.

Mike Malott vs. Adam Fugitt

Malott record: 9-1-1
Fugitt record: 9-3

Also on the card, Mike Malott takes on Adam Fugitt. Malott (9-1-1) turned pro in 2011. A former World Series of Fighting and Bellator competitor, Malott won the XFFC lightweight title in 2017. Joining the UFC in 2021, the Dana White's Contender Series alum is 3-0. He was his last bout via submission over Yohan Lainesse in February.

Fugitt (9-3) turned pro in 2008. Competing for Prime Fighting, CageSport MMA, and LFA, he joined the UFC in 2022. 1-1 inside the octagon, Fugitt won his last bout in February against Yusaku Kinoshita.

Dan Ige vs. Nate Landwehr

Division/Weight: Featherweight
Ige record: 16-6
Landwehr record: 17-4

In featherweight action, Dan Ige faces Nate Landwehr. Turning pro in 2014, Ige (16-6) joined the UFC in 2017. This Dana White's Contender Series alum is 9-5 with the promotion but 2-3 in his last five bouts. Ige won his last fight in January, beating Damon Jackson via knockout.

Landwehr (17-4) turned pro in 2012. A former M-1 featherweight champion, "The Train" joined the UFC in 2020 and is 4-2 with the promotion. On a three-fight win streak, he last fought in March, defeating Austin Lingo via submission.

Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Eryk Anders

Division/Weight: Middleweight
Barriault record: 15-6, one no-contest
Anders record: 15-7, one no-contest

Opening the main card will be Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Eryk Anders. Barriault (15-6, one no-contest) turned pro in 2014 and is a former Hybrid Combat and TKO middleweight champion. Joining the UFC in 2019, he is 4-5 for the promotion, with one no-contest. "Power Bar" is 2-2 in his last four fights, his last bout being a TKO win over Julian Marquez in March.

A BCS National Championship winner, Anders (15-7, one no-contest) went from football to MMA in 2015. A former LFA middleweight champion, he joined the UFC in 2017. “Ya Boi” is 7-7 with one no-contest in the octagon and 2-2 in his last four. Anders last fought in December, beating Kyle Daukaus via TKO.
