Recent speculation suggested Brock Lesnar might have been thinking about the end of his in-ring career with WWE. Reports had surfaced that Lesnar was heard saying his goodbyes to other members of the roster, leading to the buzz that he might be winding things down. Those are reports that another former WWE Superstar who knows Lesnar quite well believes might be true.
In an interview with Rewind Recap Relive, former Olympic Gold Medalist and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle talked about Lesnar's run in WWE and said he believes the Beast Incarnate is ready to call it quits. First speaking about the leadership changes in the company and squashing any speculation that Lesnar's potential departure might have something to do with Triple H being in charge, Angle called Triple H a "great leader."
He added: "He's a great boss. I don't have a problem with him. I don't think anybody has a problem with him." He talked about how Vince McMahon ran things differently and was "one of a kind" but noted, "I'm not gonna knock Triple H because if anybody was gonna replace Vince it was gonna be Triple H and Stephanie. And you know, that's basically what they did. So, I don't think Triple H is the reason why Brock's retiring. I don't believe that for second."
Angle noted that the reason he thinks Lesnar is retiring is that he's simply ready. Because he's made enough money, he's done all he wants to do and he's got no other reasons to stick around, Angle said, "I just believe that Brock's had enough. He's ready to quit. He's ready to retire." Lesnar has had a good run and even though his character has found new life as a babyface and he could have a couple more years in him and put others over on his way out, he might be ready to say goodbye, spend time with his family, and relax.
