The Miami Dolphins lost a major piece of their offense to the New England Patriots this week. Miami returned the favor by signing a Patriots Pro Bowler and All-Pro on Friday. The Patriots brought in Mike Gesicki this week to help Mac Jones improve the offense next season.
The Dolphins then made a pair of in-division signings. According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Dolphins will add former Patriots punter Jake Bailey to the roster for next fall.
Bailey earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors for his 2020 season. He landed 31 punts inside the 20-yard line that season, five off his mark for a career-high of 36 punts inside the 20-yard line. Bailey hasn’t been close to recording 30 punts inside the 20-yard line since the 2020 season.
Bailey was just another player swap going around the AFC East this week. The Dolphins decided to sign former New York Jets wide receiver Braxton Berrios to a one-year contract.
