The Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens might get snowed on during their playoff game on Sunday evening amid brutally cold temperatures.
Poor weather conditions are not only an unpleasant experience for fans but could hinder the players' performances. Snow can obstruct players' visibility and ruin their footing. Cold temperatures can also affect both the players' and even the football's air pressure.
It will be mostly cloudy in Buffalo, New York, tonight with a low of about 31 degrees.
There will be rain and snow tomorrow morning before it becomes just snow after 10 a.m. Eastern time. There is a possibility of 1 to 3 inches of new snow.
Snow is likely before 10 p.m. Saturday night. There will be a chance of snow showers afterward, mainly between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. There is a possibility of less than an inch of new snow.
Temperatures will range from a high near 37 degrees and a low of about 15 degrees.
Kick-off is at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the outdoor Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, about a 20-minute drive southeast of Buffalo.
Snow Showers are when snow falls at varying intensities for short periods of time.
Buffalo will experience periods of snowfall during the first week of February, followed by showers in the second week and more snowy periods in the third week, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac. The month will end with snow showers. The average temperature in February will be 24 degrees.
The Buffalo Bills shared on Thursday via X, formerly Twitter, a video of snow coming down on their stadium, writing, "Winter is here."
John Harbaugh, head coach of the Ravens, told CBS News in a recent article, "You have to operate under duress," adding, "The duress of the opponent, it's also the duress of the environment, and it's really the noise as much as anything, especially for the offense."
The winners of the divisional games this weekend will move on to the Conference championships on January 26. Those next two games will decide who's going to Super Bowl LIX on February 9.
