GOLDEN KNIGHTS' SMITH, THOMPSON, MARTINEZ SENT HOME AHEAD OF GAME AT EDMONTON

The Golden Knights' Reilly Smith, Logan Thompson and Alec Martinez have all returned to Las Vegas and will not be available for Saturday's game at Edmonton.

The team announced Smith and Thompson were dealing with injuries, while Martinez left for personal reasons.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy told reporters that he hoped their absences were short-term.

Vegas returns home for another matchup with the Oilers on Tuesday, March 28.

"Hopefully, I'll have better news for you on Monday," Cassidy said.

Thompson had to leave Thursday's game at Calgary due to an injury. It was his first game back after being sidelined with a lower-body ailment back in February.

The Golden Knights are currently in first place in the Pacific Division with a 45-21-6 record. They are four points ahead of second-place Los Angeles and six ahead of third-place Edmonton.
