COLE CUBELIC RANKS THE 5 BEST OFFENSIVE LINES IN THE SEC

SEC Network college football analyst Cole Cubelic has ranked his top five offensive lines in the SEC. Cubelic, who played center for the Auburn Tigers from 1996-2001, is always watching to see who is winning the battle in the trenches.

Cubelic does not think that the Alabama Crimson Tide have a top five offensive line in the SEC. "I'd have no problem with Alabama being there... I have a little bit of a tackle concern for Alabama heading into the season," said Cubelic. The Cubelic likes what Alabama has on the interior at offensive guard.

Alabama (tied) has an SEC-high four offensive linemen on the media's All-SEC team including first-team offensive guard Tyler Booker. The Georgia Bulldogs are the only other team with four preseason All-SEC offensive linemen. The Bulldogs return three starters from last season, but effectively return four since right tackle Amarius Mims was injured so much in 2023.

Here's how Cole Cubelic ranks the five best offensive fronts in the SEC.

5. LSU Tigers

LSU's offensive line played a big role in quarterback Jayden Daniels winning the Heisman last season. "I think they (the LSU Tigers) have the best tackle tandem in all of college football," said Cubelic. "I don't think anyone is close to LSU."

4. Georgia Bulldogs

"I do think from an upside prospect, Georgia could be close (to No. 1 LSU)," said Cubelic.

Georgia returns a trio starters from a season ago and has an immense amount of depth along the offensive line. Georgia has four All-SEC selections along the offensive line.

3. Texas Longhorns

"Texas has a first-round draft pick at offensive tackle, all five starters back, two reserves that have played," said Cubelic. The first-team All-SEC offensive tackle Kelvin Banks anchors the Longhorns' offensive line. Texas is ready to play in the trenches in the SEC.

2. Tennessee Volunteers

First-team All-SEC center Cooper Mays is a leader for the Tennessee offensive line. Mays should help make the transition to starting easier for quarterback Nico Iamaleava.

"He's (Cooper Mays) a guy that deserves a lot of talk. I think he's very important to that football team," said Cubelic.

1. Missouri Tigers

"Missouri's group is not going to take a big step back," said Cubelic. The Tigers lost star offensive tackle Javon Foster to the NFL draft, but Cubelic thinks Missouri has the pieces to replace Foster. However, Missouri does not have a single offensive lineman on the preseason media All-SEC teams.
